My grandma is fighting Lung cancer. Ever since I was in the 4th grade(now Im in 11th almost 12th). I want a ribbon pin . Where can I buy them? I know online but any stores have them. Just curious?
I see them on the internet. They do exist just hard to find I guess,
We are very close and my parents know that it hit me the hardest. Whenever my mom told my it was back I would always cry. Even in the 4th grade I took it hard.
My father was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and passed away in 2004. His brother who is my uncle also died from lung cancer 6 months after my father died. There is a high chance of me getting it too? My father also has a sister but she’s healthy as for now.
I do not smoke and my parents were divorced since I was small, I usually wasnt around when my dad smoked.
I’m 19, and have only smoked for maybe a year, but my parents always smoked so I got second hand smoke form that mostly all my life.
But I’m just wondering what are the chances of actually getting lung cancer from smoking?
I know that asbestos is dangerous for workers and people who come into contact with it. Our house was built in 1952 and has asbestos siding. My parents swear that it’s fine because it is not falling apart. I’m extremely worried and I stress about it every day. I have a huge fear of lung cancer after our grandmother died from it a year ago. I’m getting professional help but it’s not working. Any advice?
I’m asking this because in 2003, my dad died of lung cancer. He was an insulator and was exposed to asbestos for many years without knowing. We are still in the middle of a lawsuit and next month we have to go to court for something called Work-mans Comp. Some of the people my dad worked with are lying and won’t admit that they too worked with asbestos at the time my dad did. They are afraid they’ll lose their job because some of the men are still working for the company, so they are going to lie on the stand, even though one of the guys was the best man at my parents wedding. They are going to say he died because he was a smoker. The thing is, even though he was, the specialist who reviewed my dads Autopsy report said that the asbestos had something to do with it whether he was a smoker or not.
My mom is now older than my dad was when he died (he was 45) and she is still alive and she’s a smoker, and so are many other of his friends who are his age and smoke. I was just wondering what age people usually die of lung cancer due to smoking? I think it could help with the case, but I’m not really sure. I’m just looking for all the answers I can get so I can kind of see if we have a good chance or not. We’ve been waiting five years for this to go through and we’ve been struggling to get by, especially with this economy. I would rather have my dad back, but he wanted this for us because he couldn’t be here to support us. He wouldn’t want my mom to struggle like she has. We are about to lose our house, so if we win, everything would be okay. I need advice or someone elses opinion on what might happen.
Thanks in advance

The lawsuit is separate from the Work-mans comp, sorry if I made it sound like it was just one thing. What I’m basically worried about is the Work-mans comp. I just wanted to clear that up, sorry.
I’m in the national guard, and i volunteered to go to NO(new orleans) with another unit from illinois after the hurricanes that destroyed the city. I was there for just over a month, and that was over 6 months ago, and I have had a stuffy nose everday since I first got down there. I’m sure I was exposed to all kinds of polutants. But I’m not usually the type of person who gets sick easily, but I’ve had this stuffy nose for over 6 months and it won’t go away. Towards the end people were tearing out the walls of their homes, and the streets were lined with fiberglass insulation, and I assume asbestos. My girlfriends parents said they heard a news reporter who was down there talk about how she’s had a stuffy nose for months now too. Has this happened to anyone else who was down there? And did it go away, or am I doomed to live like this for the rest of my life?
Also the 9 other guys from my unit who volunteered to go down there are also having chronic stuffy noses. And other than that, I feel fine, I just haven’t been able to breathe through my nose in 6 months.
